Allerton Castle
We are pleased to have played a meaningful part in the restoration of Allerton Castle sadly ravaged by fire.
Allerton Castle underwent major restoration works after a fire destroyed much of the Grade 1 Listed Building interior, including the Dining Room and 3 floors of the residential wing.
Situated near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, the building is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Britain. The building is so valued by English Heritage that they carried out the initial appraisal of structural damage to assist in getting restoration works quickly underway.
Floorscan Acoustics was chosen to provide advice on sound insulation measures for replacing the fire-damaged separating walls & floors. Sound Reduction Systems products were extensively used to those areas needing high levels of sound insulation – and given the circumstances, where good fire performance could be assured.
